We'll start with a retreat. Then, you’ll plug into Yo's committees, meet with mentors, and join workshops that push your thinking and sharpen your impact.
In-person gatherings at the start and end of the program help build cohort connections, introduce key elements of the program, and orient participants to the broader Yo! ecosystem.
Retreats won’t always be local. To deepen connections and expand perspectives, we host gatherings in different locations—including out-of-state. Each one is designed to immerse you in the larger Yo! network and community.
You’ll take on a role in one of the core Yo! committees, contributing to ongoing work behind programs like Camp, Internships, and the Magazine.
Committee typically meet once a month.
Group sessions offer space to check in, share progress, and reflect on what’s emerging across the program—with occasional guest speakers to introduce new perspectives.
We’ll host four workshops, one each quarter of the program.
You’ll be paired with a mentor to help you explore how to grow your career and community work—without compromising either.
Mentors and mentees meet on their own schedule, typically once every 1-2 months.
Yo! Residency runs from September to June. The program is built to work with a full-time job while supporting your community involvement. See the section above for details.
What We Cover
When we gather as a full group, we’ll cover the cost of meals. For retreats that require travel and lodging, we’ll make sure those major costs are covered.
What We Don’t Cover
We don’t cover incidental expenses like local transportation, gas, or meals outside of group gatherings.
Compensation
This is a volunteer program. Residents do not receive a stipend or compensation for their participation.
It’s a short application. Apply by July 15 to be considered for our next cohort.
